*Fraser & Neave Holdings Bhd*’s net profit for the fourth quarter ended Sept 30, 2024 (4QFY2024) dropped 38.21% year-on-year to RM84.99 million from RM137.56 million, impacted by higher tax expenses and increased withholding taxes on dividends repatriated from its Thailand operations. The higher tax expense followed the expiration of a Board of Investment incentive for F&N’s Thailand food and beverage (F&B) division in 3QFY2024.
Logistics service firm *Xin Hwa Holdings Bhd*, said its cargo transport unit’s licence to transport goods has been suspended by authorities, which it expects to adversely impact its operations. The Johor Bahru Land Public Transport Agency (Apad) suspended the licence of its wholly owned subsidiary, Xin Hwa Trading & Transport Sdn Bhd (XHTT), due to its failure to comply with safety requirements, specifically in ensuring that all goods vehicles under its operation were maintained in a condition deemed safe for use by the director general of Road Transport.
*IOI Corp Bhd* has allocated part of its aged plantation landbank in Johor to build a solar power plant, in a move to venture into the renewable energy sector, according to its managing director and CEO Datuk Lee Yeow Chor. The group did not disclose the land size, saying the project is still in its early stages. IOI Corp's total landbank in Johor spans 23,961ha, according to the group's latest annual report.
*T7 Global Bhd* has secured a contract from ExxonMobil Exploration and Production Malaysia Inc for the provision of pan-Malaysia offshore maintenance, construction, modification (MCM) and hook-up commissioning (HUC) services. The contract is for Package B2 — Guntong and awarded to its wholly owned unit Tanjung Offshore Services Sdn Bhd.
*TCS Group Holdings Bhd* has secured a RM86.38 million contract from Sime Darby Property Bhd for the construction of 60 units of two-storey semi-detached factories at the Elmina Business Park in Sungai Buloh. The two-year contract will commence in December, said TCS, adding it will fund the works via internal funds and borrowings.
Construction firm *Aneka Jaringan Holdings Bhd* has secured a RM39 million contract to undertake earthwork, piling, pile caps and contiguous bored piling works in Jalan Pantai Sentral, Kuala Lumpur. The three-phase contract was awarded to its wholly owned subsidiary, Aneka Jaringan Sdn Bhd, by GDP Architects Sdn Bhd on behalf of Murni Lapisan Sdn Bhd.

*FBM KLCI* up 4.3pts or 0.3% to close at 1,620.70. We maintained the resistance level at *1,700* and the support level at *1,600*. Trading volume increased to 2.6bn (2.4bn previously), while trading value was at RM2.5bn (RM2.2bn previously). Market breadth turned positive (512 Vs 476). Gainers were seen in health care (+0.7%), financial services (+0.6%), and plantation (+0.4%); while losers were seen in industrial products & services (-1.5%), energy (-0.6%), and property (-0.3%).
*Asian Equities* ended positive. Hang Seng index gained 2.1% underpinned by signs of local economic improvement, while investors braced for a crucial week in which Americans will elect a new president.Japan Nikkei 225 rose 1.1%. *European STOXX 600* up 0.1%. *US stocks* ended higher on Tuesday as traders awaited the results of the presidential election. Dow added 1.0%, while Nasdaq gained 1.4% as markets awaited results of the US presidential election.

Plantation group *SD Guthrie Bhd* has teamed up with property developer AME Elite Consortium Bhd to develop a green industrial park within the Johor-Singapore Special Economic Zone (JS-SEZ). SD Guthrie said the park will be developed on 641 acres of land in its estate in Kulai as a hub for high-value industries such as logistics, advanced manufacturing and clean technologies. It will feature a range of ready-built and built-to-suit factories.
TGI Fridays Malaysia's operations in the country will continue to operate as usual and remain unaffected by the recent bankruptcy filing of TGI Fridays Inc in the US, says *Techna-X Bhd*, which owns Craveat International Sdn Bhd — the master franchisee and developer for TGI Fridays Malaysia.
The six-year dispute between *Star Media Group Bhd* and property developer JAKS Resources Bhd over the development of a parcel of land in Section 13, Petaling Jaya, which started in 2018, has come to an end, with both parties inking an agreement to settle the issue.
*Datasonic Group Bhd* is buying a 51% stake in Innov8tif Holdings Sdn Bhd from Revenue Group Bhd for RM40 million, cash. Innov8tif, a two-year-old company, specialises in ID verification technology to support e-know-your-customer (e-KYC) and e-know-your-business (e-KYB) and anti-fraud processes, customer onboarding process automation and mobile biometric authentication.
*Dayang Enterprise Holdings Bhd* has bagged a contract from Shell for the provision of pan-Malaysia offshore maintenance, construction, modification (MCM) and hook-up commissioning (HUC) services. The contract value was not disclosed but will be based on work orders issues.
*Carimin Petroleum Bhd* said it has secured a five-year contract from Shell for the provision of pan-Malaysia maintenance, construction, modification (MCM), and hook-up and commissioning (HUC) services. The group said the contract awarded by Sarawak Shell Bhd and Sabah Shell Petroleum Company Ltd covers all offshore facilities operated by the two companies.
*MN Holdings Bhd*, an underground utilities and substation engineering specialist, has secured various contracts worth RM315 million since its new financial year started on July 1, 2024, pushing its order book to RM625.8 million. These new contracts included three substation engineering projects with a total contract value of RM285.2 million, which it had announced from July to October.
Builder *Tuju Setia Bhd* has secured a construction contract worth RM411 million to build serviced apartments and landed residential units in Kelana Jaya for the Sunway Serene 2 development project. The job was awarded to Tuju Setia’s wholly -owned Pembinaan Tuju Setia Sdn (PTS) by Sunway Serene Sdn Bhd, a wholly-owned unit of Sunway Bhd.
*Bina Puri Holdings Bhd* has bagged a RM113.3 million contract to build water pipelines under the Serian Regional Phase 2 project in Sarawak. The contract was granted to its wholly-owned subsidiary Bina Puri Builder Sdn Bhd by Tokoh Ilham Sdn Bhd.
Newly-listed *Elridge Energy Holdings Bhd* said it has entered into a deal to supply biomass feedstock to a Japanese trading company for 15 years. Under the memorandum of understanding signed with JFE Shoji Group on Monday, Elridge Energy will supply the Japanese company 150,000 tonnes of Green Gold Label certified palm kernel shells annually, from April 2025 until March 2040.
*MCE Holdings Bhd* a manufacturer of automotive electronic and mechatronic parts, is partnering with Nanjing Chuhang Technology Co Ltd to exclusively develop, manufacture and market a sensing radar technology for autonomous driving application for global markets, excluding China.
*Bintai Kinden Corp Bhd* has secured a RM61.22 million contract for the construction of a housing project in Jasin, Melaka. The group received the contract from N&T Asset Sdn Bhd, the registered owner of the 38-acre land on which the project will be developed..

*Asian Equities* ended mixed. Hang Seng index gained 0.3% on expectations of further spending stimulus to boost the economy from the Standing Committee of China's National People's Congress, a major meeting of the country's leaders, this week. Japan Nikkei 225 closed flat. *European STOXX 600* slid 0.3%. *US stocks* ended lower on Monday ahead of the presidential election and the Federal Reserve's monetary policy decision due later in the week. Dow dropped 0.6%, while Nasdaq slid 0.3% amid a decline in government bond yields and the dollar as an influential poll called into question a growing narrative that the 2024 elections would return former President Donald Trump to The White House.
