Al Abraj has entered into a relationship with 10X Capital to invest part of its treasury in Bitcoin. They have started with five Bitcoins and plan to steadily build their investment in the digital asset.

Despite receiving little attention, the move is seen as a first in Bahrain and the region for a listed company to adopt Bitcoin for treasury purposes. This is similar to the approach established by other major companies around the world that have adopted Bitcoin in managing their treasury.

Metaplanet Makes Waves with Massive 620 Bitcoin Purchase

Metaplanet, an investment company in Japan, made the headlines recently due to the largest Bitcoin purchase it ever made. On December 23, the Tokyo-headquartered firm revealed that it had bought 619.7 Bitcoin worth less than $60 million because Bitcoin traded at about $96,000.

It makes it the biggest buyer since May when it bought its first Bitcoins. That’s almost four times the old record of 159.7 BTC set in October. Metaplanet now holds 1,762 BTC worth $168 million, acquired at an average cost of about $75,600 per coin. Known as Asia’s MicroStrategy, the firm is now standing as one of the biggest public firms based on its holdings of BTC.

Tether Mints $1 Billion USDT on Tron — Is This An Uber-Bullish Signal for TRX?

Cryptocurrency prices bounced this week after much weekend and Monday volatility. Bitcoin gained 3.6% to trade at $60,461 at the time of writing, while Ether bounced to trade at around $2,600.

The gains come after USDT stablecoin issuer Tether minted 1 billion tokens on the Tron blockchain. Tether’s minting history has often been seen as bullish for the crypto industry, as these events usually precede market gains.

Crypto trader @Ali_Charts on X noted that Tether was “like the Federal Reserve of crypto.” He noted that the markets tend to gain each time USDT is minted, which was the reaction seen on Monday.
