Rockets, and multistage ones at that, were as early as the 17th century.

Fairy tales? No. It's a fact.
All this was described and published by Kazimir Semyonovich even 250 years before the appearance of Tsiolkovsky's works. It describes rockets from products with a stabilizing rod to winged rockets. It also elaborated the theory of creating a prototype of a multistage rocket. But that's not all. Back in the 18th century there were legends of fights with fire-breathing dragons. And it turns out this is not a fairy tale - there were such weapons.

Therefore, a global, and perhaps even nuclear, war could be in the not-too-distant future. Everything for this was already in place.
