People Power in Llanelli!
Patriotic Alternative Wales activists were out and about in Llanelli again this weekend to both support the community, who have valiantly stood up and defied the Home Office efforts to dump illegal migrants in the Stradey Park Hotel, and to spread the word about the nefarious plans of the Welsh government to turn Wales into a so-called ‘nation of sanctuary’. Hundreds of leaflets were delivered to homes and businesses in the area and once again, the team were warmly welcomed by the local people that they interacted with.

This weekend a group of activists from Patriotic Alternative Wales visited the historic site of Island Farm, which was a prisoner of war camp outside of Bridgend. During WW2 the camp hosted a number of Axis prisoners, mainly German, and was the scene of the largest escape attempt by German POWs in Britain. Near the end of the war, it was renamed Special Camp XI and used to detain many senior officers who were awaiting extradition to the Nuremberg trials including Field Marshal Gerd von Rundstedt, Field Marshal Erich von Manstein, and Field Marshal Walther von Brauchitsch.

The site is lovingly preserved by local volunteers and provides a fascinating insight into a dark period of our history. Such outings provide a great opportunity for activists to socialise and at the same time learn about our shared history.
